How I Got Started
Share
Hello Everybody!
This is my very first blog post and I am so excited to share more about why I started Cr8zy Curves Intimates. First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Jennifer Robinson and I am the owner of Cr8zy Curves Intimates. The idea came to me in a dream back in 2003, yeah that was a long ago. I had earned my degree in Apparel Textile and Marketing from Kansas State University a few years prior and was still looking to get into the fashion industry. While working in retail, I saw different possible job opportunities but none of them excited me. I didn't know where I wanted to be in the fashion world. I remembered doing an internship at Nordstrom's and while working there received my first fitting. I couldn't believe my ears when she told me my size. I also assumed her answer would be no, when I asked if they carried it and was equally shocked when she said "Yes, I'll be right back." Since then, I have looked at lingerie differently. I realized that I could wear pretty supportive bras that were in my size and I knew where to buy them! But working in the fashion industry is where I wanted to be. So I thought..
It Came To Me In A Dream
Then one night I had this dream of owning a lingerie boutique. There were these beautiful bras in large cup sizes all over the store and I was in awe. The store design was clean and colorful with bras for different purposes hanging on the walls. When I woke up from my dream, I realized that I had my answer. I was going to make bra shopping better for women with bigger boobs and it felt right! It felt like this was something I was suppose to be going after and it came to me in a dream! Now of course I don't tell too many people this story because they would look at me like I'm crazy.
I started Cr8zy Curves Intimates because I don't think women with large breasts should have shopping limitations. I want these women to have more shopping options and I want Cr8zy Curves Intimates to be a place where they can feel connected and welcomed. I believe that women should embrace their bodies regardless of how the media says we should look. So there you have it, my short story of how I got started. I hope this story finds you empowered and inspired
